...and the men have won the North District league 2 for the second year running!!

It's unavoidable now, the Men will be promoted to the North District league 1 after winning in unwavering style. It's going to be challenging, but a challenge that will be taken with the utmost enthusiasm.

Well done to Captain Chris Tawse for leading the side to victory:

'I am so proud of the lads - week in, week out, we showed up, played as a team and won as a team, and that's why we have been victorious. I can't wait for next season and the challenge that moving up a league will bring, I think all of the lads are really looking forward to it.'

Well done also to top goal scorer Kev Marr, the crowds look forward to more goals and enthusiastic celebrations next season!

2018/2019 Committee Votes - 31st May

Posted 01 June 2018

The 31st of May 2018 saw the second Annual General Meeting of AHC and the first AGM which involved members from all three old clubs; Aberdeen Hockey Club, Aberdeen Ladies and Hazlehead Ladies. The meeting was held at the Sportsmans club on Queens Road.

As is the style of our club Secretary Liam 'Mimo' Morrice, the meeting was efficient and kept on point throughout the evening.

The key points from the evening were that all members were very happy with the newly founded AHC, but there was plenty of progress still to be made going forward into the 2018/2019 season.

Funds for the club are in good shape but fundraising still needs to take place throughout the 2018/2019 season in order to maintain the new sub price of £22 per month, for full members. It was recognised that the monthly subscription for the men's team had not been increased for several years, but an increase from £20 to £22 was needed in order to keep up with ever increasing prices of pitch rentals.

The main agenda point of the evening was the election of the committee. It was with support of the majority of the club, that the committee from the 2017/2018 season remained in place, in order to drive forward from a transition period of club merger, to a transformation of the club into a key player within the district. The only change to the committee was the resignation of Calvin Roberts as the Men's 2's captain - work commitments meant Calvin couldn't dedicate the time he would like to, to the club. Voted in to replace Calvin was Gary Darnell, a strong second team player who has earned the respect of the club in the years he has been there.

The meeting was rounded up with the decision that the committee would meet on a monthly basis, with fundraising, club kit and recruitment high on the agenda.

Posted 2 Feb 2018

Ladies's 2's

After a tough fought and sweaty season, the AHC Ladies 2's have won the North District 2 Indoor League!

Captain Nic Pirie has named Lesley Brander as Player of the Season; not a game went by that Lesley didn't score!! Let's hope this achievement spurs on the results in the outdoor league for the second half of the season.

Well done ladies!
